Quick Presentation: How to transfer PowerPoint Template to another presentation?

PowerPoint contains of few templates in Design worked area. Each of them consist of unique combination of font, font design, styles, color scheme and background. But PowerPoint gives you opportunity to change any of this template’s components. It’s free and easy to create your own template using your own color palette, font, or background.

You may want to use your wonderful PowerPoint template in other presentations. For this just follow few easy steps

  1. Open a presentation containing the design template that you wish to use in your new presentation.
  2. Open the new presentation in progress or a brand new presentation, so that you now have two open presentations.

Note: Both presentations have to be visible at the same time. So you have to go to Windows > Arrange All.

Than you have to copy Color scheme

  1. Make your presentation which you want to the source active. Just click on it.
  2. Than find slide you wish to copy and click in the Outline / Slides pane.

Than apply color scheme to one slide only

  • Find and click on the Format Painter button on the toolbar to activate it.
  • Click on the title bar of the new presentation.
  • Click on the miniature version of the slide in the Outline / Slides pane. The formatting is applied to the new slide.

To apply color scheme to several slides

  • Double click on the Format Painter button on the toolbar to activate. (Double clicking allows you to apply the formatting to more than one slide.)
  • Click on the title bar of the new presentation.
  • Click on the thumbnail version of each of the slides in the Outline / Slides pane. The formatting is applied to the new slides.
