How to manage slide demonstration time in PowerPoint ?

Your presentation is finally created. Each slide double checked, all bugs has been fixed and you think you are ready for presentation.

Right? No... You have to verify time it takes of your audience for understanding each of your slide.

How to do this?

Testing and speaking

  1. Select your first slide. Look on it and read your first slide text. Read it like you’ll do it faced on your audience. Do this consistently with all slides of your presentation. Done? Great ! Go to “Slide Show” >”Set Up Slide Show”> “Record Slide Show”> “Start Recording From Beginning” / “Start From Current Slide” Press it and start to read your lecture carefully pronouncing words and making meaningful accents.
  2. PowerPoint will record your timing.
  3. Press arrow button at the left down corner of the screen to going to the next slide. Press “Pause” button if you need a rest.
  4. At the end of presentation the window with each slides timing will open.

Now you have the approximate timing of your presentation. For creation auto play presentation you have to:

  1. Go to “Slide Show” >”Set Up Slide Show”
  2. At the “Show Type” check “Browsed at a kiosk (full screen)” for auto play presentation mode  turning on. Press “Esc” after end of presentation.
  3. In case you need to change timing of any slides press Slide Show” >”Set Up Slide Show”> “Record Slide Show”> “Start Recording From Beginning” / “Start From Current Slide” and redo all process.
  4. If you completely unsatisfied of your presentations timing you could clear it by one of “Clear” menu items: “Clear Timing on Current Slide” or “Clear Timing on All Slides”

It’s not so easy to create good presentation. It takes lot of attention to detail and some kind of skills. There is the only one way to creation your Dream Presentation: practice.
